Elena-Mie is a 17 year old artist. She was born in Bulgaria, but her parents quickly moved to Belgium. Now she lives in a town called Leuven, filled with young people because of the university that is situated there. She started making art at a very young age, at five she made masks for a theater piece and after that she took art lessons after school. Now she studies fine-arts in Sint-Lukas, located in Brussels. She’s a multi-media artist and currently she’s working on her last big project before she graduates. What she’s going to do next she doesn’t know yet, her interests are all around the place. Growing up she’s been surrounded by books and cameras. Since her parents are journalists and documentary maker. They inspired her to watch movies and read books. On her own she discovered music which inspires her every day. With a big interest in cultural phenomena. Whatever comes next, making art is something she will never stop doing. Like Albert Camus said, “To create is to live twice.”.
